Commitment to Fair Editorial Practice

The Chinese Journal of Cancer Prevention & Treatment (CJCPT) is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and accountable editorial process. The journal welcomes constructive feedback and provides a formal mechanism for addressing complaints and appeals in a timely, impartial, and confidential manner.

Submission of Complaints

Authors, reviewers, readers, or other stakeholders may submit a complaint regarding any aspect of the journal's editorial or publication process. Complaints may relate to, but are not limited to:

• Editorial procedures or publication delays.
• Peer review concerns.
• Alleged breaches of publication ethics.
• Authorship or conflict of interest issues.
• Production or publication errors.
• Concerns regarding published articles.

Complaints should be submitted in writing with sufficient supporting information to enable an appropriate assessment.

Appeals Against Editorial Decisions

Authors who believe that a manuscript was rejected because of a procedural error, misunderstanding, or other legitimate concern may submit a written appeal. The appeal should clearly explain the reasons for requesting reconsideration and include any relevant supporting evidence.

An appeal will not be considered solely because the author disagrees with the reviewers' or editors' academic judgment.

Review Procedure

Upon receiving a complaint or appeal, the Editorial Office will acknowledge receipt and conduct an independent review of the matter. Additional information may be requested from the parties involved where necessary. Depending on the nature of the case, the Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board members, or independent experts may be consulted before a final decision is reached.

Resolution Process

Following the review, the journal will communicate its decision to the complainant or appellant. Where appropriate, corrective actions may include clarification, correction of published content, revision of editorial procedures, or other measures considered necessary to resolve the matter fairly.

The decision of the Editor-in-Chief, following completion of the review process, shall normally be regarded as final.

Confidentiality

All complaints and appeals are handled confidentially. Information will be shared only with individuals directly involved in the evaluation and resolution of the matter, unless disclosure is required by ethical or legal obligations.

Ethical Oversight

The journal manages complaints and appeals in accordance with the principles of fairness, transparency, and due process. Where publication ethics concerns arise, the Editorial Office follows the recommendations and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and considers the guidance of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) when reaching editorial decisions.

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure continued compliance with international publication ethics, editorial best practices, and evolving scholarly publishing standards.
